The Carousel

Remember the first time you laid eyes on the grand, shiny carousel and the excitement as you hopped on and began your magical ride? It looked like an absolute blast, with everyone else enjoying themselves and having the time of their lives. The horses were so welcoming, much like the warm embrace of a beloved grandmother at Sunday dinner. Looking around, you noticed an array of horses, some resembling yours and others with their own unique charm, all radiating beauty. Over time, these lovely horses became your familiar companions, they became your “friends”, bringing comfort and joy to each ride.

As time passes, that once shiny carousel seems to be gradually losing its sparkle. What used to be an exciting ride filled with laughter and joy now feels like a monotonous routine, and everything that was once beautiful now appears dull and worn. The spinning sensation has become nauseating, and the enjoyment is withering away.

You watch as others keep getting on they are having the time of their lives. They are laughing, carefree, and it’s hard not to yearn for that joyful feeling once again, but deep down you know that this ride must come to an end. The ride isn’t fun anymore and all of your “friends” are either moving on or they have their seat and no plans of ever finding a new ride. That once exhilarating ride was now a carousel of chaos and you finally have the courage to get off of the ride.

You keep waiting for the perfect time and then you realize the perfect time is now and you take the leap because the carousal never stops until you finally let go. The fall hurts and there may be a long-time to heal but as the days go by the colors in life are brighter, the air is and the sun is warmer, and now you are free….
